Captain America actor Chris Evans has weighed in on the recent debates surrounding the superhero fatigue concerns.

In the past few years, as studios are producing more superhero films and TV shows, there have been complaints from fans and critics that there is an oversaturation of the genre in the market.

It doesn't help that some of the recent superhero movie releases garnered disappointing box office results and received polarizing responses due to the quality and repetitiveness of the formula.

As reported by GamesRadar+, during his recent appearance at Emerald City Comic Con, Evans weighed in on the superhero fatigue debate.

He said that the movies in the genre are not getting the credit that they deserve despite the massive undertaking in making them.

"Comic book movies in general, for whatever reason, don't always get the credit that I think they deserve," Evans said.

"I think they're these big, giant movies, there's a lot of cooks in the kitchen. But I think the empirical evidence is in: they're not easy to make. If it was easier, there'd be a lot more good ones."

The actor added, "I'm not throwing shade! I've been a part of a few that missed. It happens! Making a movie is tough. It's tough. More cooks in the kitchen doesn't make it easier."

Evans contended that some of the MCU movies are "objectively" great films and should get more praise than what they're getting.

He continued, "The Russo brothers have really done some great work. I don't want to highlight specific films in the Marvel catalog, but some of them are phenomenal, just really objectively, independently great movies, and I think they deserve a little more credit."

For some fans, the Captain America actor certainly made a great point on the value of superhero movies, especially the ones in the MCU where he has starred for several years.

It is still hard to tell right now whether the genre has indeed experienced its downfall or it's just a temporary setback that will lead to a more favorable reception again in the future with the upcoming releases that have promising outcomes.
