Marvel originally didn't have any plans for a Thor 4 film, but all credits to Waititi, he made Thor: Love and Thunder a possibility, and it is easily now one of the highly-anticipated films of the year. There are no doubts that the upcoming film would dominate the box office, however, is Waititi willing to return for a fifth-round for the God of Thunder?

In an interview with Fandango, Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi opens up about the possibility of doing a fifth film for Chris Hemsworth's Thor.

When asked about his thoughts on Thor movies becoming a complete trilogy, “I haven’t thought about it as part of a new trilogy, because every time I make a film, I think, ‘I’m never doing that again…’ because they’re just too hard," Waititi admitted. "There’s any film and I’ve done it eight times now. Eight times I’ve said, ‘I think I’m just going to pack it in. I had a good run.’ And then sure enough get lured back in with a Yankee dollar. Lured back in by them cookies… and them Oscars.”

In a recent interview, Hemsworth also expressed that he couldn't possibly return if Waititi didn't say yes to the film. "Being able to work with Taika again. I don't know that I would've done another if Taika hadn't said yes, he was going to do it," he told Vanity Fair. "And he had written this beautiful script which was a wacky, crazy, romantic comedy set in space and that I hadn't seen before."

Well, it appears that Hemsworth and Waititi formed an imperishable friendship through the years of making two amazing Thor films. Thor: Ragnarok is regarded as one of the best MCU films due to Waititi's extremely humorous elements that totally shifted the God of Thunder's whole vibe. Now that anticipation is still expanding with the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, fans cannot envision another director who's more eligible than Waititi for Thor 5.
