Tengen Uzui Trends as Demon Slayer Fans React to Sound Hashira's New Look

The latest episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 finally brought us into the Yoshiwara red-light district and that meant some interesting changes for our heroes. In addition to Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke taking extra steps to infiltrate the Entertainment District, Tengen Uzui adopted a brand-new look that has fans going nuts!

In Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 9, Tengen Uzui brought Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke to the Yoshiwara red-light district. But before they could get to work, the Sound Hashira explained to his younger companions what needs to be done.

Uzui revealed that his three wives have been serving as scouts in the district to investigate demons in the area and they have consistently sent him updates by crow. However, all three women suddenly stopped communications and the concerned Uzui couldn't find them. This is why he needs the boys to pretend to be girls working in the various houses in Yoshiwara and to find out what happened to his wives.

Interestingly, Uzui also pointed out that he needs to be less flamboyant to avoid being noticed in Yoshiwara. That meant getting rid of all his accessories and makeup when he brought the "girls" to the Tokito House.

Although Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke had to wear garish makeup to pass as girls, Tengen Uzui had to go with a simple kimono and let his hair down. This certainly made him look less flamboyant but also more attractive to netizens who couldn't stop gushing about the Sound Hashira on Twitter.

It's great to see that Uzui still looks amazing without all the flamboyance but will it help them find his wives sooner? We'll find out next week.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 Episode 10 is titled What Are You? ("Nanimono?") and will premiere on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 11:15 PM JST.
