While we didn’t get a new look at the upcoming season during the event last weekend, we did get confirmation that a new Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc trailer will be released this December.
Specifically, the official Demon Slayer Twitter account revealed that more info on the upcoming season will be revealed in December following a TV broadcast of the Mugen Train movie in Japan.
Along with the trailer, Demon Slayer is also celebrating the movie’s rebroadcast with a replica of the train in the anime that is being toured across select locations in Japan.
Where Does the Swordsmith Village Arc Take Place in Demon Slayer?
In case you missed its reveal, the Swordsmith Village Arc is the continuation of the Demon Slayer anime and can also be considered Season 3 of the show.
As its name implies, this upcoming season will cover the Swordsmith Village Arc from the manga, and based on its reveal trailer released earlier this year, it will feature the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito along with the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is an anime series by ufotable that’s based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotouge.
The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020.
The manga is among the bestselling Shonen Jump titles of all time as it has over 150 million copies in circulation as of February 2021.
Its anime adaptation is also a major hit, with the Mugen Train movie being Japan’s highest-grossing film of all time.
The anime began with the first season which aired in 2019, and it was followed by the Mugen Train movie in 2020.
Its story continued in the Entertainment District Arc (aka Season 2) which aired from December 2021 to February 2022.
When Is the Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc Trailer Going to Be Released?
The upcoming trailer will be shown following the Mugen Train movie’s rebroadcast on Japanese TV which is scheduled on December 10, at 7:00 PM JST.
Because the film is two hours long, it is expected that the trailer will be shown on December 10, at 9 PM JST.
As for the movie’s rebroadcast promotion, a replica of the Mugen Train is traveling across Japan from Tokushima Prefecture to Odaiba in Tokyo.
The goal of this train is to travel through all prefectures in Japan ahead of the December 10 trailer release and promotion for the next season.
