The final episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 has been dropped and although the Entertainment District arc is now over, fans have a lot of things to be excited about. For instance, people can't get enough of the new Upper Moon demon who was introduced in Episode 18. So who is Douma and will he play an important role in Season 3?
In Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 18, the heads of the defeated Gyutaro and Daki bickered as they slowly began to fade away. As Gyutaro insulted his sister, Tanjiro Kamado interferes by covering his mouth and urges the two not to fight during their final moments. As the terrified Daki disappears, Gyutaro calls her by her real name Ume and remembers the human life he led with his sister.
It is revealed that the ugly human Gyutaro was treated unkindly by virtually everyone including his own mother. However, his outlook in life changed when his sister was born. He dotes on her, getting her a job in a brothel and believes they are doing well. This is until Ume is burned alive by a samurai for stabbing him in the eye with a hairpin.
The desperate Gyutaro avenges his sister and tries to get help but no one comes to their aid. Only a demon who has been eating women in the district hears his cries and decides to turn the siblings into demons, wondering if they will eventually join the Twelve Kizuki.
It's a brief cameo from Douma who was then the Upper Moon 6 but fans couldn't get enough of the handsome demon with the rainbow-colored eyes.
Douma is not the only Upper Rank demon other than Daki and Gyutaro in the Demon Slayer Season 2 finale. Akaza also makes an appearance as he arrives at Muzan Kibutsuji's Infinity Castle realizing that an Upper Rank has been slain.
For now, it is unclear if we'll see more of Douma in the future but there is a possibility he will be back in Demon Slayer Season 3.
