We've been seeing a lot of Muzan Kibutsuji in the Entertainment District arc episodes of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2. However, his latest appearance, albeit in a flashback sequence, revealed some interesting new details about the Demon King. Amazingly, it looks like Muzan knows about a particular demon who isn't under his control. In addition to that, there's at least one Demon Slayer that the villain has always feared.
In Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 13, Tanjiro Kamado loses his cool when Daki destroys several houses by lashing out at a man who complains about the noise of their fight. The destruction causes numerous casualties and Tanjiro immediately confronts Daki for her callousness. As he speaks to the demon, she suddenly remembers the words of a mysterious swordsman who he realizes is someone that exists in Muzan Kibutsuji's memories. Since she bears Muzan's blood, these cells are the ones that connected the warrior to Tanjiro.
It was awesome to see the legendary Yoriichi Tsugikuni in the episode but his appearance also revealed something interesting about how Muzan operates. As it turns out, demons can remember Muzan's memories and they also feel the fear he once felt when facing a truly powerful opponent. That would explain why Daki hesitated when she recalled Yoriichi.
That's not the only interesting thing we learned about Muzan Kibutsuji. In a later scene, Daki recalls how the Demon King told her about a young demon he is unable to control. Chillingly, he orders Daki to kill the demon who turned out to be Nezuko. This means that Muzan is fully aware that Nezuko is different from the other demons he had created and will stop at nothing to kill her.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 Episode 14 is titled Transformation ("Henbo") which is a reference to the manga's 83rd chapter. Yukaku-hen Episode 7 will premiere on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at 11:15 PM JST.
