Happy Birthday, Shinobu Kocho! The current Insect Hashira is celebrating her birthday on Thursday, February 24 and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is making sure everyone gets to join in on the fun. New key art created by Ufotable has been dropped and Shinobu's birthday is also getting an awesome fan event!
The art was shared by the official Demon Slayer Twitter account and it features a happy Shinobu Kocho with the "Congratulations" banner created by Giyu Tomioka, Obanai Iguro, and Muichiro Tokito. It also looks like the Water Hashira misspelled the banner and the Snake Hashira is scolding him for the error while the Mist Hashira looks on in confusion. Check it out below.
It's an adorable illustration that certainly suits the always cheerful Shinobu and we're loving how it's also perfect for her birthday. However, it's not the only awesome thing that Demon Slayer is doing for her day. Another post confirms a collaboration cafe with Ufotable Cafe where customers who order the birthday menu will receive a luncheon mat with a newly drawn illustration.
Fans who are worried they can't get to the Ufotable Cafe in time for Shinobu's birthday can rest assured it isn't a one-day event. The birthday festival will last until March 21, 2022.
Shinobu Kocho was first introduced in the first season of Demon Slayer where she teamed up with Giyu Tomioka to dispatch the Spider Family on Natagumo Mountain arc. We learn more about her in the Rehabilitation Training arc where her backstory was revealed.
But will Shinobu return in Demon Slayer Season 3? It is unlikely that the Insect Hashira will appear in the Swordsmith Village arc. However, we could see more of Shinobu in the next story arc.
