Speaking with Collider, the Stranger Things producer said he owes his Star Wars break to Kathleen Kennedy, revealing that he's been meaning to join the franchise for quite some time. He said: "I’ve been talking with Kathy Kennedy for a while now, and she’s been aware of my passion for this franchise for a long time.

He did clarify that his yet-to-be-titled film is still in its early stages of development. Levy continued: "The stars finally aligned, and she came to me and was like, let’s do something here. And that's as much as I can say. But this is definitely development and not yet close to prep. So there's a lot of work to be done."

As it stands, Levy is currently attached to Deadpool 3 which will begin filming this year. Realistically speaking, his involvement in Wade Wilson's Marvel Cinematic Universe debut will temporarily halt his Star Wars plans and it would be safe to assume that we're still years away from seeing it come to fruition, especially given the fact that he's also doing Stranger Things' final season.

Meanwhile, all of your Star Wars favorites — from film to series are available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
