Deadpool 3 Could Be Disney's Next R-Rated Film After Black Widow

People are understandably concerned about the future of Wade Wilson now that 20th Century Fox has been acquired by Disney. After all, it could mean that Deadpool would need to be given a PG-13 treatment. However, it looks like fans have nothing to worry about. A new report reveals that the House of Mouse has every intention of pursuing an R-rated Deadpool 3 after Black Widow.

It was previously reported that Disney and Marvel are currently considering all options for Deadpool's introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The three options were to introduce Wade in Spider-Man 3, produce a series featuring the character on Disney+, or pursue Deadpool 3. Interestingly, most people believe that the first two options could be something that the studios will settle on. As it turns out, a third Deadpool film could still happen and it doesn't necessarily have to be PG-13.

An industry insider has confirmed with We Got This Covered that Disney and Marvel Studios are still planning to pursue Deadpool 3. The report suggests that the studios have "no intent to sanitize the series' trademark style" and that the third movie would still be getting an R-rating. This should be welcome news for Ryan Reynolds, who has no intention of mellowing down on the character now that he is set to show up in the MCU.

But how soon can we expect an R-rated Deadpool 3? For now, there have been no concrete announcements about the movie. However, there is a huge possibility that it will be Disney's second R-rated film after Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, which is currently in production.
