Deadpool 3 Possibly Axed As Marvel And Disney Look For Other Options

There is little doubt that Marvel Studios is currently simmering with ideas now that Disney has successfully acquired 20th Century Fox. After all, the acquisition will give the studio the freedom to use X-Men characters in their upcoming projects. However, there is one film that Marvel appears to be shutting down. Unfortunately, it looks like Deadpool 3 is no longer happening any time soon.

A new report explored the possibilities that Marvel and Disney are considering for Deadpool. After all, they can't simply forget about Wade Wilson since the two R-rated films (and one PG-13 Christmas special) dominated the box office. MCU Cosmic states that there are three options for the studio and one of these is the highly anticipated Deadpool 3.

Unfortunately, the third Deadpool movie could be a huge problem for Marvel and Disney. There is little doubt that Ryan Reynolds will refuse to downplay the character's swearing and violent actions while Disney might not be ready to pursue an R-rated film just yet. Sadly, this could mean that the House of Mouse will have to shelf Deadpool 3 for now and launch the Merc With A Mouth in a different project.

As mentioned, there are other options for Deadpool in the future. The most exciting one is considering bringing Wade Wilson in to spice things up in Spider-Man 3. Needless to say, the idea has people talking and we're hoping that the third Spider-Man movie could introduce Deadpool to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (Additionally, Sony might like this idea so we're betting on it).
