Deadpool 2 Writers & Studio Confident of the Movie’s Release

Apart from, well, all the other movies coming out for Marvel, one other movie that has fans waiting for every update is Deadpool's sequel.

And from the looks of it, fans have nothing to worry about. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter to announce that they are already "very close to a draft," which they will use. What's more, they are thrilled to be able to "shoot in a couple of months."

Still, as far as details are concerned, the writers have been more focused on the actual script than meeting any deadlines. This is very telling of their confidence that the sequel will be a success.

"Fox is probably going to be able to drop that thing on a date and everyone else is going to scatter, because no one will want to come out the same weekend… our feeling is it's all about the movie… I think the studio feels the same way. We just want to make the best movie possible and Deadpool will find an audience, we feel at this point."

This isn't even just talking big from the writers. In fact, it has already proven with the February release for the first movie, and it still hit it big considering the timing and even the R-rating. For Reese and Wernick, it isn't even the release date that they are concerned with anymore.

"We don't want to put the cart before the horse, and oftentimes with release dates that happens. You end up racing and you end up being forced to do something you're not happy with."

Deadpool 2 will be out in 2018. Ryan Reynolds will return as the titular character together with still-to-be-cast Cable and Zazie Beetz's Domino. David Leitch will direct the movie.
