Deadpool 2: Here's How Ryan Reynolds Responded To Casting of Josh Brolin as Cable

Earlier today, we learned that Josh Brolin will play Cable in Deadpool 2, but the casting news was greeted with confusion as the actor is already playing a different character (Thanos) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, Fox's X-men universe is different but both characters are still based on Marvel comics.

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is aware how fans are feeling about the casting, and played with their anxieties in a hilarious tweet:

On Wednesday, Reynolds tweeted: "The f—, Fox! You can't play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch."

FYI: Brolin is not in Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Fox's X-Men universe is separate from MCU.

Thanos showed up in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy and briefly in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron. His character will play a major role in Avengers: Infinity War, which is set ot release in theaters in 2018, the same year Deadpool 2 is expected to be released. Of course, Cable looks significantly different from Thanos, who's mostly depicted with CGI.

Expect to see a fourth wall-breaking joke referring to Brolin's MCU character in Deadpool 2.
