The upcoming DCU Superman Legacy movie by James Gunn is set to begin production, and they are casting new members for different roles. The latest cast member will play PA Kent, aka Jonathan Kent.
The movie casts David Corenswet as the new Superman, replacing Henry Cavill, and will be released in theatres on July 11, 2025. The latest news from the DCU is that they’ve found a cast to play Jonathan Kent. As we all know, Jonathan Kent adopted Superman after he arrived from Krypton as a child, and he was named Clark Kent.
The Wrap has reported a significant development in the DCU Superman Legacy movie: Pruitt Taylor Vince's casting as Jonathan Kent. The 63-year-old actor, known for his roles in popular movies like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Walking Dead and Bird Box will play this pivotal role in the upcoming film.
We are not sure of the extent of his role, but we do know that Superman Legacy will tell the story of Clark Kent in his early days after landing on Earth. The previous Superman instalment shows that PA Kent, AKA Jonathan Kent, dies as Superman reaches adulthood. So it's safe to say that PA Kent may die at some point in the movie.

Pruitt Vince, as Jonathan Kent, joins the cast of Superman Legacy, which also includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and Milly Alcock as Supergirl.
According to ComicBookCast2, fans are saying that Pruitt Vince doesn’t fit the role of Jonathan Kent because he's bald and overweight. They also compare him to Man of Steel’s Jonathan Kent’s cast Kevin Costner.
