James Gunn recently shared an exciting filming update on the highly-anticipated season 2 of the DCU series Peacemaker.
The first season of the series became a major hit when it premiered on HBO Max in early 2022. Since then, fans have been patiently waiting for updates regarding the show's return.
We also learned that the new season will be integrated as part of the new DCU franchise and it will be continuing from the events of Superman while the first season won't be canon in the DCU.

Peacemaker Season 2 Officially Begins Filming
In his recent post on Instagram, Gunn revealed that filming of Peacemaker season 2 has finally started.
He shared a photo of the back of Peacemaker's helmet to celebrate the exciting update on the show's highly-anticipated return.

Considering that Superman, which Gunn is also directing, is filming at the moment as well, some fans have been wondering whether it indicates that the DC Studios co-chairman is helming both projects simultaneously.
In response to a fan question on Threads, Gunn clarified that he will be directing some of the episodes and he brought three other directors to helm the rest of the season.
"I’ll be directing some of the episodes (I’m directing today). But there are three other great directors joining me for the season," he explained.
This is an exciting update for fans since we have a confirmation now that production for Peacemaker season 2 has finally started and it's just a matter of time before we can truly anticipate its premiere.
It's also an impressive feat for Gunn since he is now busier than ever with two high-profile DCU projects that he is working on at the moment. It is interesting to see how it will all play out when we see them premiere around next year.
