DCEU: Gotham City Sirens Is NOT Cancelled; Possible Storyline of Harley Quinn/Joker Movie

After it was reported that Warner Bros was planning on making a Harley Quinn/Joker movie with the directors of Crazy, Stupid, Love., a lot of people thought that they had scrapped David Ayer's Gotham City Sirens project. That, however, isn't the case, and GCS is still very well in the works.

A studio insider told Forbes that:

"Harley, Catwoman and Poison Ivy are super important to us– And a super cool team, too!"

As for the Joker/Harley Quinn movie, the site speculates that it could be based on a Bruce Timm story called Mad Love which explores the origins of Harley Quinn and her obsession with the Joker. They also go on to speculate that the movie will see the end of their relationship, and this will lead on to the team-up in Gotham City Sirens.

Though Suicide Squad wasn't critically praised, Margot Robbie's portrayal of Harley Quinn wasn't anything short of perfect. On the other hand, Jared Leto went all out in his portrayal of the Joker, only to have his performance cut short and deemed ridiculous by some fans.

Hopefully a movie focusing on the two characters will give Leto's Joker the proper coverage he deserves. After all, everyone loves Ben Affleck's Batman. It should only be right that Leto's version of the Clown Prince of Crime draw the same attention.

No official release date has been announced for the Joker/Harley Quinn movie.
