Crazy, Stupid, Love. Directors Are Going To Make A Joker And Harley Quinn Movie

Probably one of the best things to come out of Suicide Squad was Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, but a lot of fans are still unsure on where to place Jared Leto's Joker. Warner Bros looks like they want to remedy that, and it's said that they're working on a movie that will focus on Harley Quinn and the Joker.

According to THR, Crazy, Stupid, Love. directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are currently in talks with Warner Bros to write a movie focused on Harley Quinn and the Clown Prince of Crime. The movie is planned to come out after Suicide Squad 2, but since there is still no definite release date (and director) for that project, the future of this Harley/Joker movie is still unclear.

Though a lot of fans liked Robbie's Harley, they definitely didn't appreciate how her relationship with the Joker was portrayed in the movie. The entire point of their romance was that Joker was an abusive partner and constantly pushed Harley away, and Harley, on the other hand, was just proved insane because of her obsession with the Joker. Joker saving Harley in the end was just very uncharacteristic for him to do.

Fanboy gripes aside, I believe that Leto's Joker can still be redeemed. All he really needs is the right script. A lot of fans were disappointed with how he turned out in the movie—Leto included—and the Joker just really needs some proper development to prove he can go toe-to-toe with Ben Affleck's Batman.

No official release date has been announced for the Harley Quinn/Joker movie.
