We all know for a fact that the DC Extended Universe has long suffered from its lack of cohesiveness and long-term creative direction which is a damn shame considering the franchise is home to arguably some of the most iconic superheroes in all of comic book. Still, fans are hopeful that the DCEU will finally be able to turn things around after years of being stuck in obscurity but to be fair, they've always stood a chance against the Marvel Cinematic Universe and they just need to be more consistent.

Speaking of consistency, it looks like DC's groundbreaking FanDome event which launched its inaugural edition last year will officially be an annual thing now. Announcing its grand return in epic fashion, the comic book giant released a trailer as well as the virtual event's official poster which boasts all the things we can look forward to at the said spectacle.

Shockingly enough, Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) aka the DCEU Trinity were left out of the poster much to the bewilderment of fans. Quite understandable though considering Cavill and Affleck's days in the franchise seem to be numbered. Gadot, on the other hand, is expected to return for Wonder Woman 3 so it still remains a huge mystery why she wasn't featured on the official poster given the fact that she's one of the franchise's flagbearers.

Hopefully, WB and DC are going to pull some huge surprises at the second annual DC FanDome and while I don't wanna give anyone false hopes, don't you think it would be neat if we finally got the Man of Steel 2 announcement we've been dying to get for years now? How about another go for Batfleck? That would be insane but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what they have in store for us.

DC FanDome 2021 will stream on October 16.
