Marvel fans might still be in a state of shock after hearing that Netflix decided to ax Luke Cage and Iron Fist, however, it seems like the fanbase might have to prepare for even more terrible news with Daredevil star Charlie Cox questioning whether or not his very own Marvel Netflix series might get any new seasons.
Knowing how the third season of Daredevil tied up a lot of loose threads that the show's been dangling around ever since the show began, some fans feel that the current season finale of the Marvel Netflix series leaves the show with little to go on. Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, Cox was asked whether there would be more stories after season 3's "hopeful" finale and the actor just had to confess that "At this point, I don't know if there's any intention of us doing more seasons."
However, the actor doesn't close the door on any sort of opportunity for the series.
"But were that to be the case," he continued, "I think there's an interesting challenge for the writers, because I don't think we can do another season where Matt is so isolated, so alone, and so broken and angry. I think in order to avoid being a broken record, we're going to have to find a Matt Murdock that at least initially has a slightly different attitude toward the people that he loves, and toward himself, and toward God."
There's been a lot of concern for Daredevil and the remaining Marvel TV series on Netflix ever since the streaming company decided to cancel Iron Fist and Luke Cage. Reportshave come out that Netflix may have decided to put the two series across the chopping board because of drastic drops in social media impressions and according to the data, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Punisher might be next.
Of course, the study could be wrong. Let's just keep our fingers crossed.
Daredevil season 3 is currently available for screening on Netflix.
