New Data Suggests Marvel TV’s Other Netflix Shows Could Get Axed As Well

The third season of Daredevil might be enjoying great reviews from fans and from critics, however, word has it that the series and the remaining Marvel TV shows on Netflix could be facing the danger of the chopping block soon.

This is terrible news for Marvel fans. The fanbase is still reeling from this week's announcement that Netflix had decided to ax Luke Cage. Last week, the streaming site also decided to put the brakes on Iron Fist.

Now, Business Insider claims have the inside know on the statistics that reveal Netflix's basis on cancelling both shows, and according to the report, it's very likely more Marvel Netflix shows are going to get chopped up soon enough.

Crimson Hexagon just recently provided data to the publication revealing that the social media buzz for Netflix's different Marvel series have been dropping dramatically over the course of time.

While the first season of Luke Cage enjoyed 300k social media impressions during its first season, the numbers dropped to 50k during its second season. Iron Fist first season delivered 120k social media impressions, however, its second season only generated 20k.

That's a significant drop from one season to the other, and while Jessica Jones is doing significantly better, its 300k impressions from its first season have dropped to half that number during its second batch of episodes.

Daredevil is showing the same trend as well. If this data is indicative of a cancellation, Daredevil and Jessica Jones may get axed as well.

Hopefully, this won't turn out to be true. Another popular hypothesis is that Netflix canceled both Luke Cage and Iron Fist to bring them together in a buddy comic book series. The theory might not have any grounds yet, but Netflix could very well work on Heroes for Hire and streamline the story for both Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and for Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

Daredevil season 3 is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
