For the past couple of days, we've been hearing a lot of casting updates on Daredevil: Born Again as Marvel Studios is now gearing up for its production in just a couple of months although the plot details are still kept under wraps. Now, it looks like there is yet again another addition to its ensemble as two actresses have been tapped to play significant roles in the series.
Deadline has reported that Margarita Levieva (The Acolyte) and Sandrine Holt (Homeland) are joining the cast of Daredevil: Born Again. While the specific details about their roles are being kept under wraps, they are likely to play Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk's love interests, respectively.
Levieva is known for her roles in TV shows such as Revenge, The Blacklist, and The Deuce. She recently joined the cast of the Star Wars series The Acolyte in an undisclosed role. Meanwhile, Holt has appeared in well-known TV shows such as Better Call Saul, Homeland, House of Cards, The Expanse, and MacGyver.
This new casting update on the series is certainly its most intriguing one yet since it suggests that Matt Murdock will have a new love interest yet again in his own upcoming series and it sounds his relationship with Jennifer Walters ended between the events of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Born Again.
With Holt's casting as Wilson Fisk's potential love interest, it sounds like Vanessa is out of the picture in the upcoming series unless they are recasting the role with her. It is also interesting to see how she will play in Wilson's storyline during the series.
Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Michael Gandolfini are confirmed to star. Matt Corman and Chris Ord serve as the head writers of the new series. Production will reportedly begin in February 2023 in New York City. The first season is expected to run for 18 episodes.
Daredevil: Born Again is slated to premiere on Disney+ in spring 2024. You can check more details about it here.
