CNBLUE Lee Jung Shin recalled his time in the military and how it helped him have a more mature image.

In March 2020, Lee Jung Shin and his bandmate, Kang Min Hyuk, officially got discharged from their ETS leaves. They did not return to their bases as part of the Ministry of National Defense’s policy due to the COVID-19 virus.

The idol-turned-actor got enlisted in July 2018 into the 32nd Infantry Division in Sejong City.

He has since starred in several dramas, including Shooting Stars, and in the past months, the bass player reportedly noticed changes in him.

Lee Jung Shin Embraces More Mature Image

Following the finale of tvN drama Shooting Stars on June 11, Lee Jung Shin had an interview with Sports Chosun (via Naver) to discuss his life as an actor.

He famously played the role of Do Soo Hyeok in the drama, the legal advisor to Starforce Entertainment.

According to the musician, he used to hate his image in his 20s. But after serving in the military, he became more mature mentally, emotionally, and physically. From looking childish, he now enjoys his time in his 30s as he started to degenerate physically.

With that, he preferred his image now significantly since it would help him grow further in the industry.

“I want to be a good actor and a good singer, but I think my goal is to become a good person. I also think that I have to become a good person in order to do good things. In the future too, I want to seek that maturity,” he went on.

Lee Jung Shin added that he is yet to play more characters in the future. For now, he reportedly aims to score bold and intense roles.

Lee Jung Shin Finds Working As An Actor, CNBLUE Member Easier Now

After highlighting the positive impact of the military service, Lee Jung Shin took his time to share his feelings as he juggles his time as an actor and member of CNBLUE.

For the musician, doing two different things all at once is hard. It even causes people to think negatively about idol-turned-actors.

Fortunately, that assumption improved nowadays because of his seniors.

Lee Jung Shin particularly mentioned 2PM’s Lee Jun Ho and Girls’ Generation’s Yoona as his examples, saying that he wants to be like them.

For now, he is not pressuring himself as he waits to land on a good project that will establish himself as an actor.
