Chukwudi Iwuji on Playing a Truly Despicable Villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

The High Evolutionary was truly one of the most unforgettable aspects of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as he proved to be a cruel villain. Interestingly, Chukwudi Iwuji says that playing a truly despicable bad guy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel is "another level".

Chukwudi Iwuji was recently a guest on the Phase Zero podcast where he spoke about his experience of being on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Interestingly, the Peacemaker actor admitted that he still can't believe he is part of the MCU.

"I have struggled to wrap my head around it," Iwuji said.

"It was similar with Peacemaker but this is another level to it," he added. "Trying to figure out, 'Is that really me on that stage? Is that really me that's the subject of this conversation?' That's how I feel."

Iwuji continued, "It's still slightly surreal but I'm very excited about it. I'm now catching up with sleep. It was a crazy press tour and madness."

Luckily, Chukwudi Iwuji is finally getting used to all the craziness.

"I'm finally catching up with sleep and feeling myself again," he said. "I'm just really happy a big part of my happiness is how it's affecting the people around me."

Although he did an excellent job at playing a villain who is deemed the most cruel in the MCU, Iwuji pointed out that he didn't like being mean to animals. It was previously reported that he was relieved that he didn't have to act with actual animals in most of his scenes.

"It really helped that when I was dealing with the animals, I wasn't really dealing with any animals, because it would have been much harder that way," Iwuji previously said.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still screening in theaters worldwide.
