Chris Pratt Reveals MCU’s F-Bomb Was NOT Scripted; Revels By Slamming Samuel Jackson ‘In His Face’

Who knew this day would come? Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 DOES end with a bomb. An F-bomb. For the first time in MCU (and Disney) history, the profanity censorship has been lifted.

“Yes, I do drop the first F-bomb,” Chris Pratt admitted in a red carpet interview with Variety, “Take that, [Nick Fury actor] Samuel Jackson.”

When asked by co-star Elizabeth Debicki (Ayesha) on whether Star-Lord’s F-bomb was scripted or ad-libbed, Pratt proudly responded, “No, it was not, it was not scripted.”

“Everybody’s been trying to improv F-bombs [in the MCU] for 10 years and finally one made it in.”

Pratt added, “Usually when you start dropping F-bombs — like in an improv scenario — it’s really your indication to the filmmaker that you’d like to move on, and they actually put it into the film, so that’s pretty good!”

Considering that the Guardians trilogy is ending, MCU fans would be pleased to know that the threequel has some memorabilia to remember it by.

Apart from potentially losing Rocket the raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, director James Gunn and his cast could just as easily boast for being the only MCU film who got their F-bomb included, too.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Confirmed to Drop MCU’s First F-Bomb

Word about Star-Lord dropping his profanity first came about in April this year, where Gunn tweeted that the word “f*cking” will be uncensored in the finished film.

“You can only have one [f-bomb] in a PG-13 movie,” Gunn explained. “That said, it wasn’t planned — I told Chris [Pratt] to add it on set and it just made the moment funnier so we kept [it].”

Not gonna lie, this could potentially lighten things up a bit for the threequel. See, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is ending the franchise, leading the cast no longer being in their own movie franchise anymore.

As Gunn rebuilds the DCU, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to return for a fourth installment for the guardians in the future.

Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 premieres this coming May 5.
