Many of us thought if would never happen but James Gunn is finally giving what the fans have been dying to see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its inception — pure and unadulterated vulgarity. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is confirmed to be the first MCU flick to drop an F-bomb and it's almost hard to believe.

Understandably, the MCU has refrained from taking an edgier tone due to Disney's family-oriented nature but over the last couple of years, the billion-dollar franchise has been making conscious efforts to give fans more than just quips and jokes.

In a newly-released clip for the final Guardians film, the team is seen leaving a house in a suburb-like location. Splitting the Guardians into two sub-teams, Star-Lord gets into a hilarious argument with Nebula who is struggling to open the door of the car Peter Quill was about to drive.

To be fair, the vehicle is unlike your standard automobile and after a back-and-forth with Quill, Nebula was finally able to unlock the car door. When she asks what to do next, an exasperated Star-Lord couldn't help himself and said: "Open the f***ing door".

And just like that, the MCU's first F-bomb has just been dropped. Check out the clip here:

Now, some of you may be thinking that it doesn't count because it was censored, the clip was only bleeped because it was originally posted on YouTube. We're pretty sure when the film finally hits theaters, it will no longer be banned.

The MCU has attempted to drop a number of F-bombs since its inception but they end up getting scrapped for obvious reasons. While vulgarity is no longer uncommon in the Marvel Universe, with Deadpool known for dropping obscenity every chance he could, it's still quite refreshing to see the MCU do something the fans thought it would never dare to do.

Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits cinemas on May 5th.
