Choi Woo Shik perfectly portrayed Choi Ung's role in Our Beloved Summer.

K-Drama fans officially added Choi Ung to their ideal men's list after Our Beloved Summer came to an end on January 25. After its 16-episode run that started in December, the drama successfully presented the side of Choi Woo Shik he had never shown to the public before.

In the series, he plays the role of the free-spirited man who had a relationship with Kim Da Mi's Kook Yeon Su when they were in high school. Following their break-up, the duo pledges not to meet each other again. But 10 years later, they meet again to stand in front of the camera after the documentary they filmed in high school went viral.

As he learned about Choi Ung's life through the series, Choi Woo Shik spoke candidly about the traits he and his character do not share.

Choi Woo Shik Says Choi Ung is Different From Him

In a new interview after Our Beloved Summer's finale, Choi Woo Shik spoke candidly about how he and Choi Ung differ in terms of their personality. According to the actor, he tends to be more honest compared to his character in real life.

"Unlike Choi Woong, I tend to be more honest. If I like something, I tend to express it a lot. However, it felt foreign to do so in front of a camera. Even though it was acting, I was a bit embarrassed for the first date scene," he explained.

He explained that if he was Choi Ung, he would ask Kim Sung Cheol's Kim Ji Woong about his one-sided feelings for Kim Da Mi's Guk Yeon Soo. That way, the actor believes he would be able to keep both friendship and love in the end.

It was a happy ending for Choi Ung and Guk Yeon Soo, though, and the plot twist itself helped Our Beloved Summer to gain further attention from viewers.

Choi Woo Shik Revealed His Goals

Now that he is in his 30s, Choi Woo Shik earned more time to think about what he wants in his life and where he will invest himself more in the future.

Per the Korean star, he wants to expand his career even more after the success of his recent drama, where he played the lead role.

"My goal for my 30s is to invest time into developing myself further unlike in the past and to impress further after coming across a good project," he went on.

Choi Woo Shik still has more time to hone his acting skills and appear in more dramas. His fans, in return, would support him until the end.
