While Season 2 has still not been announced, Chainsaw Man fans can look forward to a new mobile game collab. Recently, the popular mobile game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! announced a surprise Chainsaw Man crossover.

Unlike other Chainsaw Man collabs though, the series’ characters won’t appear in the game.

Instead, this crossover will feature popular BanG Dream! characters in Chainsaw Man-inspired looks.

This is the latest collab of MAPPA’s hit anime, and while it may be unexpected, the series is no stranger to these kinds of crossovers.

Even before the anime was released, Chainsaw Man was already one of the most talked-about manga online. And when the anime adaptation by MAPPA was released in Fall 2022, the series’ popularity skyrocketed.

Since then, the series has continued to be incredibly popular, with its ongoing manga trending every time a new chapter is released.

Despite its popularity, MAPPA has yet to announce a second season. Though numerous Chainsaw Man projects have been released over the past half-year, many of which are collaborations.

For starters, the anime teamed up with the video game Goddess of Victory: Nikke earlier this year, which saw Makima, Power, and Himeno join the game’s roster for a limited time.

Aside from games, there have also been lots of Chainsaw Man merch collaborations, including those with brands such as Lawson and Ground Y.

There was even a collab café that happened a few months ago.

BanG Dream! Is the Next Game to Collab With Chainsaw Man

This new BanG Dream! crossover was announced recently via the game’s official social media pages and website.

Soon after, a livestream revealed more details that shared the new units that will come with the collab.

As mentioned above, no Chainsaw Man characters will come to BanG Dream! in this collab.

Though fans will be able to get unique versions of several characters, with looks inspired by Chainsaw Man characters.

For starters, here are three units that will be available in the game’s gacha:

  • Mitake Ran as Denji
  • Hikawa Sayo as Makima
  • Kirigaya Touko as Power

Aside from these three, two other special units will be given as part of the event’s rewards. These are:

  • Yashio Rui as Aki
  • Ushigome Rimi as Kobeni

The collab event will go live in Japan on June 30, 2023. It is also expected to release in global versions of the game, albeit after some time.
