While fans eagerly await the show’s premiere, several reports have suggested an official Chainsaw Man Episode 1 release date.
Specifically, several reputable leakers online reported that the highly anticipated anime series will premiere in the second week of October and on a weekday.
The show’s official release date window was announced at a MAPPA stage event that took place in early August. There, it was confirmed that the Chainsaw Man anime will release in October 2022, though no specific release date has been confirmed by the studio.
The stage event drew a massive viewership, with the stream peaking at 180k concurrent viewers on YouTube alone. Though this is to be expected given how popular the series is.
In case you’re unfamiliar, Chainsaw Man is an anime series by MAPPA that’s based on the manga of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The first part of the manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to December 2020.

The series resumed with Part 2 which was released on Shonen Jump+ in July 2022. To give you a better idea of how big the series is, Part 2’s debut saw over 3 million views in under 24 hours, and that’s in Japan alone.
Technically though, a special premiere event will take place this month where lucky fans will get to watch the first episode at a cinema in Shinjuku.
It is also expected that this premiere will feature more announcements on the upcoming anime, including possible opening and ending theme reveals.
As for its TV and streaming premiere, the reports from leakers mention that the Chainsaw Man Episode 1 release date is on October 11, 2022.

If this date is true, the show’s release will be rather unusual given that it will premiere on a weekday. For reference, most of the big anime shows during each season get released during weekends.
A weekday release for Chainsaw Man is unexpected given the hype behind it. Though it makes sense given that Fall 2022 has a stacked lineup as it includes Spy x Family Part 2, My Hero Academia Season 6, Mob Psycho 100 Season 3, and more.
Of course, we’ll have to wait and see if this release date gets confirmed soon by MAPPA. What we do know for sure is that the series is confirmed to release on TV Tokyo in Japan and on Crunchyroll in other countries.
