Captain Marvel Is Now Fandango’s Third Best Pre-Selling MCU Movie

There's a whole lot of excitement building up over Marvel Studio's Captain Marvel movie, and it looks like it's starting to show in the film's advanced ticket sales because it looks like the Marvel Cinematic Universe's very first female-led standalone movie just won its way to the top three spots in the best pre-selling films in the franchise.

Fandango just started selling advanced tickets for Captain Marvel on Monday this week, and according to the ticketing company, the movie found itself on the Top Three MCU First Day Pre-Sellers after 24 hours in the site. The second place goes to Black Panther, Marvel's first all-black comic book movie while the first spot goes to Avengers: Infinity War, the first installment in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie.

"We're seeing fantastic advance ticket sales for ‘Captain Marvel' because it's a historical film for Marvel Studios, one that fans have been waiting to see for a decade," Erik Davis, Fandango Managing Editor, said in a statement. "As the studio's first female-driven superhero film, Captain Marvel is a benchmark moment for the genre, for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and for star Brie Larson, who will play the most powerful Marvel superhero to date."

Of course, it might not come as a surprise to fans seeing Captain Marvel's advanced tickets selling like hotcakes, outpacing heavyweight Marvel movies like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Captain America Civil War, and Thor: Ragnarok.

Remember, this is the film that will introduce Marvel's strongest Avenger into the MCU. Carol Danvers has long since been a fan-favorite character among Marvel comic book readers, and everyone's eager to see how Brie Larson's going to bring her to life on the big screen.
