Carol Danvers has always flown solo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel will see her getting some backup just like in the comics. So far, it's already been confirmed that characters like Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan will be joining our intergalactic hero in Captain Marvel 2 but apparently, they're not the only ones who will be joining the "original" MCU Avenger in her new adventure.
According to a new Reddit rumor that has been making the rounds all over social media, Captain Marvel 2 will also feature the MCU debut of Adam Brashear aka Blue Marvel. The character has actually been rumored to appear in WandaVision as Monica's "other" aerospace engineer friend which makes a lot of sense when you think about it. However, it never happened.
Now, in case you're wondering if Marvel Studios has already found the actor who will bring life to the role, the said Reddit post from user MarvelStudiosSpoilers claims that Star Wars actor John Boyega will be playing the character. Of course, take it with a grain of salt but it's worth noting that the actor has reportedly been on Kevin Feige's radar for quite some time now.

I don't know about you but John Boyega seems to be the perfect fit for the role and given the fact that he's already been relieved of his Star Wars duties, I think it's time that he becomes part of another franchise. However, he did state in a previous interview that being in a franchise feels like a prison so it'll be interesting to see if he does end up in the MCU.
Captain Marvel 2 is set to hit theaters in 2022.
