Many of us thought it would never happen but Harrison Ford has finally set foot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In case you've been living under a rock the past few months, the Star Wars and Indiana Jones actor is making his comic book film debut in Captain America: New World Order, and by the looks of it, he's not just there to play a one-off villain.

Taking over the role of General Thunderbolt Ross from the late William Hurt, Ford is expected to play a substantial role in the fourth Captain America film top-billed by Anthony Mackie. In fact, if the ongoing rumors are to be believed, Ford will reportedly become Earth-616's new United States President and eventually transform into Red Hulk in the upcoming project.

Harrison previously revealed that he said yes to Marvel Studios' offer simply because he thought "everybody else seems to be having a great time". Now, he's finding out firsthand that being a Marvel actor isn't as easy as he thought it would be.

Speaking with Esquire via phone interview, Ford got honest about his MCU role and how it's not entirely fun. He explains: "Uh. Yeah. I mean, there are tough days and easy days and fun days and all kinds of days. It’s a tough schedule and, yeah, it’s fun. But it’s not a walk in the park. It’s not fun fun. It’s work"

Judging by his statement, we'd like to assume that Ford did most of his stunts for Captain America 4 which isn't all that shocking, especially considering he's been known to perform his own action sequences and seldom relies on stunt doubles.

Thankfully, Ford was pretty game to join the billion-dollar franchise and if the rumors are true that he has plans of stepping away from Hollywood for good, we're glad he added a superhero project to his already stellar acting career.

Captain America: New World Order is currently slated for theatrical release on May 3, 2024.
