Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare Celebrates the Holidays With Free Trials, Microtransactions

There's a lot to enjoy in Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered for the holidays. The newest title, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, will be playable for free during the height of the holiday season.

"If you've been itching to try out Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, we've got a special gift for you because ‘Tis the Season! Beginning at 10am PST on December 15 through 10am PST December 20, you can download and play the latest Call of Duty experience, with access to all three game modes."

Announced over the official Activision blog, the publisher confirmed that players can access the storyline's first two levels, the multiplayer with level cap of 15, and the zombies mode with level cap of 3. Since it is a free-play experience, any progress made during this time can easily be carried over upon purchase of the game.

For Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered, there's an update that brings in microtransactions to the game. This opens up channels for paid content that were previously not available, GameSpot reported.

This purchase option is also open to supply drops, which can now be purchased via Depot Credits, bought by either real money or COD Points.

Apart from this, the update also introduces crafting, which mimics the Salvage function in Infinite Warfare for the remastered version. Other features included in the update are female fighters, six maps, and a number of melee weapons.
