Still More Sasha & Carol Coming in The Walking Dead

Sonequa Martin-Green, best known for her role in The Walking Dead as the feisty Sasha, has just landed a role in Star Trek: Discovery.

This bit of news was revealed to EW by sources, and what's more, she will even be playing a lead (though currently still nameless) role in the upcoming series. The only detail known about her role is that she will be a lieutenant commander on the Discovery, and one who's supposed to be the "ideal" cast for the role to tie in everything together.

We all know that she can play a hell of a post-apocalyptic warrior in The Walking Dead. And the good news is that fans don't have to mourn her loss or possible death from the zombie series, because she's also confirmed to continue with the role.

Apart from Sasha, there's also one character we're sure to see more of once The Walking Dead returns. According to Vanity Fair, Carol (played by Melissa McBride) will also be in the limelight more often for the rest of the season.

For those who followed the entire first half of the season, you would know that we only really saw Carol in two episodes. We saw her get all skeptical with Ezekiel and also with the plan of one of Ezekiel's men to attack the Saviors. On both occasions, she was also with Morgan, the one person who may be the worst fit when it comes to Carol's current state of mind.

"When you've lost everything, there's still so much to be had—there are people. When you find people you care about, that's an amazing thing. I mean, that's it."

But since that in itself has led Carol to do some of the most brutal and insane things in the series, it's not surprising to see her character take some time off away from the group.

Still, just as we saw her do that amazing stunt at Terminus, we're crossing our fingers that this will be the season that Carol will break free from her demons and stand proud in Rick's group.

The Walking Dead is set to return on Feb. 13, 2017 for the remainder of season 7.
