Bumblebee: New Clips have John Cena in Pursuit and Bee Being Adorable

Michael Bay had finally bowed out of the Transformers franchise with The Last Knight, and now Travis Knight has taken the torch with the spinoff movie, Bumblebee. The movie comes out in a month, and we have some new clips of Bee being chased down by John Cena's Agent Burns.

Based on the trailers, it looks like the Decepticons will have gotten to the military first and they have tricked the army into thinking that Bumblebee is a threat. Cena will play the face of the organization, but by the end of the film I think he'll come into an understanding with Bee.

We also have another clip of Hailee Steinfeld's Charlie teaching Bee how to blend in on Earth. The movie is said to have drawn inspiration from Brad Bird's The Iron Giant, and you can really feel that with Bee getting ‘tought' by Charlie in this cute scene.

Though this movie is being sold as a prequel, the G1-accurate looks are giving me the feeling that this is going to be some kind of soft reboot. Though I'm sure the Bay movies have their own set of fans, I think a lot of older Transformers lovers are really missing the blockier, more solid looks of the characters from the cartoon. That being said, the robots in this film are looking great.

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie, on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken.

Bumblebee hits theaters Dec. 21.
