Bumblebee is Front and Center in New Poster

December already has blockbusters like Aquaman, Mary Poppins Returns, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse contending for top spot, but Paramount has their own movie to contend as well. December will also see the release of Transformers spinoff Bumblebee , and the new poster has Bee and new protagonist Hailee Steinfeld front and center.

While I like the simplicity of posters like this, I think it could do with a bit more polishing. For one, I'm not a fan of the lens flair, plus, they could have edited Steinfeld to have the same lighting as Bumblebee. It's like they took a screenshot of her and just cropped her in.

I do like that the villains are teased with the two planes in the background.

No doubt, as the movie draws closer to its release, we're going to get a more traditional Hollywood poster featuring all the stars. This movie has John Cena in it, and there's no way the film is not going to make that clear in the promotion.

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee the Autobot seeks refuge in a junkyard in a small California beach town. Charlie, on the brink of turning 18 years old and trying to find her place in the world, soon discovers the battle-scarred and broken Bumblebee. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns that this is no ordinary yellow Volkswagen.

Catch Bumblebee when it hits theaters Dec. 21.
