BTS' influence will be tested as Busan aims to be in the lead position to host World Expo 2030.

On October 15, Busan expects to see more than 100,000 attendees to BTS's free Yet To Come in Busan concert with the theme "Transforming Our World, Navigating Toward a Better Future.". The event will be broadcast in real-time via Live Play and played at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal.

The organizers confirmed that the concert would be aired on Zepeto and Weverse, as well.

Days before the event, Busan reportedly started preparing to welcome the group and the attendees as it hopes to leave a strong impression on World Expo.

Busan Hopes BTS Concert Will Be a Strong Pull

The Korea Times reported that Busan Mayor Park Heong Joon met with other city officials on Tuesday ahead of the BTS concert at Busan Asiad Main Stadium.

"Some 100,000 people are expected to flock to Busan around the day of the concert. After pulling off this large-scale event through water-tight preparation, I want the whole world to know that Busan can successfully pull off Expo 2030 as well," the mayor said.

The meeting, which was held at Busan city hall, was attended by representatives from Busan police, tourism groups and organizations, and HYBE.

It was divulged that 1,000 workers would be available at the main stadium to guide the 100,000 attendees. Meanwhile, 200 city workers were assigned to Busan Port and Haeundae Beach to control the traffic and visitors.

Interpreters, organizers, and more workers will complete the job to ensure a smooth-flowing event.

The city government also made a four-page newspaper, Dynamic Busan, which includes information about Busan's tourism and BTS' history. Forty thousand copies were printed in English, while 10,000 were in Japanese.

Fans can access it online through the city government's website at the book.busan.go.kr.

World Expo Bet

Aside from Busan, the candidates to host the 2030 expo include Riyadh, Rome, Odessa, and Moscow.

"In the future, Busan seeks to become an eco-friendly, smart city that harnesses Korea's advanced digital technologies. Busan's openness, diversity, and inclusivity make it the ideal host for the 2030 World Expo. If the bid succeeds, the Expo will take place in the city of Busan between May and October 2030," the post on The Korea Society website reads.
