BTS members finally found the reason to create their own Instagram accounts after announcing their hiatus.

Since their debut, BTS members have only shared updates to their fans through their only Twitter account. They never indeed revealed why they opted to have a shared account, but one website suggested that the K-pop idols always wanted to connect directly to their fans.

As a result, they only had a place where ARMYs could find content about the members.

But after announcing their extended break, they surprised the fans by launching their own Instagram accounts.

Why BTS Made Individual Social Media Accounts

On December 6, BTS members – RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook – shared photos on their new Instagram pages and earned millions of followers instantly. It took them eight years before having their accounts because of the aforesaid joint group account.

Big Hit Music also explained on Monday the real reason why the members created their accounts, saying they want to connect with ARMYs individually while showing their individuality.

"The members opened up their own Instagram accounts to further express their individuality and also have various ways in which they communicate with their fans," the label said, as translated by AllKpop.

Their accounts will help them connect with international fans as they take their most-awaited break after completing their Jingleball Tour. Jin, Jimin, and Jungkook have already arrived in South Korea, while RM, Suga, J-Hope, and V are still in Los Angeles as of the press time.

BTS Members' Instagram Accounts

All seven group members had already posted several pictures and updated their bios upon joining the social networking site.

RM chose @rkive as his username, referencing his studio's name. His description also reads, "just an archive" as a nod to rkive. Jin, on the other hand, chose to simply have @jin as his handle and already shared photos from his projects outside the K-pop group. Suga goes by the handle @augustd, his solo stage moniker.

J-Hope, as usual, showed his playful side by calling his account @uarmyhope, referencing his famous line I'm your hope, J-Hope.

Meanwhile, V goes by the handle @thv, a combination of the initials of his real name Tae Hyung and stage name V.

The most hilarious – and longest – username has been made by BTS maknae, Jungkook. He removed his initials, JK, and made @abcdefghi__lmnopqrstuvwxyz his username.
