A BTS fan who appeared on an MTV show accused the network of portraying her differently, as if she is obsessed with the K-pop group.

MTV recently launched its new show, Lifestyles Of The Biggest Standoms, featuring several fans from different fandoms. In its first episode, MTV featured fans of BTS and *NSYNC.

The 10-minute video may be inspiring to some who also want to live their fangirl and fanboy dreams. However, BTS stan Thuy, who was featured on the show, offered a different approach toward the cable channel.

As part of the largest K-pop fandoms, BTS fan Thuy found herself collecting almost everything connected to the boy group.

In the show, the only 18-year-old fan flaunted her huge collection of BTS merchandise. She revealed that she currently owns everything — light sticks, albums, and BTS's clothing. To date, she has already spent around $50,000 to complete her passion for the boy group.

The Vietnamese fan Pham Thuy currently resides in California. She reportedly became a fan of the supergroup in 2014 when she was only 11 years old.

As for her day-to-day life, she shared how she spends at least five hours a day listening to the group's songs and spends a whopping amount of money to see the group. The $30,000 of her estimated expenses was used to buy BTS official goods — from light sticks to albums. Meanwhile, the remaining $20,000 was spent on concert tickets and unofficial items.

After MTV uploaded the video on its YouTube channel and aired it on its local cable, the 18-year-old shared a Twitter thread and explained how the company edited the clips unfairly.

The part where the show alleged that she spent her father's money was reportedly out of context. Thuy is currently a full-time student while working to earn the money she spends on BTS. MTV also recklessly called her a sasaeng — a fan who invades the idols' private lives.

After touring MTV inside her room, her video was unfortunately edited poorly and tagged her as an obsessive and materialistic fan. Despite that, the ARMY received praises from the fandom members who thanked her for doing so much for BTS.
