BtoB member Yook Sung Jae ensured he constantly communicated with his group and fans even during his military service.
In May 2020, York Sung Jae bid goodbye temporarily to BtoB and their fandom, Melody, to start serving South Korea's military. With that, he had to miss several comebacks and potential dramas to focus on his responsibility as a South Korean first.
But now that he is back, the K-pop idol secured a new project in the TV industry, thanks to MBC's The Golden Spoon.

What To Expect On Yook Sung Jae's The Golden Spoon
On Wednesday, MBC (via Korea Times) confirmed Yook Sung Jae would lead the series after scoring the leading role.
The Golden Spoon, which the broadcasting company scheduled to be released next summer, will be a live-action version of the webtoon of the same name by HD3. Song Hyun-Wook, the director behind Korean romantic comedy series like Another Miss Oh, will serve as the director.
The series will tell the story of Seung-Cheon and his life as a poverty-stricken boy. One day, the character finds a magical spoon that allows him to switch his life with his wealthy best friend. Initially, he obviously enjoys his new life and treats it as the best thing that ever happened to him – not until his life becomes overwhelming enough due to his life-changing decisions.

Director Song Hyun-Wook will work with scriptwriters Yoon Eun-Kyung and Kim Eun-Hee, the brains behind the popular series Winter Sonata and Prime Minister & I.
Samhwa Networks and Studio N will be responsible for the series' production.
The exact The Golden Spoon release date remains unknown. But MBC expects it to premiere in the second half of 2022.
Yook Sung Jae Expresses Excitement After Early Discharge
The news came two months after the K-pop idol surprised his fans through an Instagram Live broadcast in October. At that time, he revealed he wanted to return as soon as possible and start promoting again with BtoB.
"[Eunkwang] must have had a tough time leading BTOB without me. I want to start promoting again soon. I haven't been able to meet them yet because of COVID-19. I want to hurry up and meet them soon," he said, as translated by Soompi.
BtoB's most recent comeback did not include Yook Sung Jae as he was still in the military when the group established the subgroup BtoB 4U. The group consists of Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Changsub, and Peniel and famously participated in Mnet's Kingdom: Legendary War.
With York Sung Jae's return, it is safe to say that BtoB might have their comeback real soon!
