Britney Spears received flak following a comment she made after seeing Christina Aguilera and her backup dancers. The “Toxic” singer was accused of body-shaming her fellow artist and her dancers, but Spears tried to save face by saying that the way she sees other people may have been influenced by how her parents raised her, as well as her 14-year conservatorship.

Britney Spears Accused Of Body-Shaming Christina Aguilera And Her Backup Dancers

Earlier this week, Britney Spears wrote a lengthy caption on her social media account saying, “If I had Christina Aguilera’s dancers, I would have looked extremely small.”

She also quoted Rodney Dangerfield, who said, “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people.”

Britney Spears Claims It Was Not Her Intention To Body-Shame Anyone

Shortly after she posted her comments, Aguilera unfollowed Spears on social media. But Sam Asghari’s wife immediately tried to explain her side to her fellow singer, as well as her fans.

“By no means was I being critical of Christina’s beautiful body, it is what it is. I flew to see her show once and the main thing I noticed was the difference between our people on stage. By no means did I even mention Christina, look at my post !!! I was inspired by her show and she is a beautiful woman of power … Thank you @xtina for inspiring me,” Spears wrote (via Page Six).

She also claimed that her original post seemed like a reflection of the insecurities that she has been dealing with all her life. But she insisted that she would never intentionally body-shame anyone because she knows what it feels like to be criticized because of the way she looks.

“I struggle with this because of how I feel about myself, not because I hate how anybody looks. I appreciate you all being understanding with me as I figure out this new life I’m living,” she said.

Britney Spears Fired Back At Her Son Jayden Federline Following His Interview

Spears also made headlines recently after she responded to her son Jayden Federline’s allegations about her and their relationship.

“I say to my son Jayden that I send all the love in the world to you every day for the rest of my life. My love for my children has no boundaries. It deeply saddens me to know his outcry of saying I wasn’t up to his expectations of a mother,” she said (via CNN).

Jayden appeared on 60 Minutes Australia alongside his dad, Kevin Federline. The teenager said that he hopes his mom would focus on improving her mental health so that they could all reunite.

However, the comments did not sit well with Spears, who is convinced that her ex-husband brainwashed their sons to distance themselves from her.
