A year later, Aniston and Pitt divorced. He was then spotted dating the Maleficent star.

Earlier this month, Jolie made new allegations against Pitt amid their legal battle. The Eternals actress alleged that he choked one of their kids and struck another on the face.

While the public follows Jolie and Pitt's legal battle, a report from InTouchWeekly in 2017 resurfaced. There was reportedly a time in his life when the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor thought "the biggest mistake of his life" was leaving Aniston for Jolie.

"He came to realise that leaving Jen for Angelina was one of the biggest mistakes of his life," a source told the outlet (via Koimoi). "And while he's not in love with Jen, he realises how much he does love her. Brad keeps telling friends that he's seeing everything more clearly."

How's Brad Pitt's Relationship With Ex Jennifer Aniston

Pitt and Aniston have remained amicable following their split. In contrast, he is stuck in a legal battle with Angelina Jolie following their separation in 2016.

A source confirmed to People that Pitt attended Aniston's 50th birthday at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles in 2019.

"Basically, every single person who Jen loves attended. That included Brad," the source told the outlet. "The party was a celebration of Jen's life."

The insider added, "Brad, for long, was a very important part of Jen's life. She debated back and forth with friends if she should invite him. She was very happy that he showed up.

"Brad and Jen are still friends," a source told Entertainment Tonight. "They talk and have a nice, friendly, cordial relationship."
