What Happened Before Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 263?
In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 262, The Princess’s Tea Party, after Himawari learned about the mission of Kawaki to protect Kae, he offered his help but Eiki warned Kawaki that he would expose the latter's identity at some point.
Kae tells Kawaki that she would hold an event for the whole school and Himawari helps to prepare for the tea party. There, Eiki calls Kawaki out and they try to convince the others that Kawaki likes tea and sweets, Himawari also shares about Gaara being close with Naruto.
That made everyone like Kawaki more but he, then, suspected that the cake has poison so he threw it and that made Kae sad. Himawari tries to distract the others while Kawaki observed the cake. He learned that it wasn't poisoned but tampered.
It was caused by the daughter of Kagemasa actor Gongoro, Osuka Kamakura, and Kae got angry at Osuka who then apologize to the princess. Kae felt like the class could accept her fully for who she is and Kawaki makes up for the cake with taiyaki.
