What Happened Before Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 260?

In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 259, A Wound That Never Heals, an attack happened where an ex-shinobi was targeted and Sarada and her team went to investigate. They saw cats on patrol and Mitsuki told them that his cat, Mikazuki, hasn't returned yet since the Funato clan attacked.

Mitsuki found Mikazuki in the possession of Hibiki, a musician, who explained that the cat was injured so she took it in. They went for a walk where they saw Hibiki's brother who looks like he hates shinobis.

Mitsuki investigated again to catch the criminals who fled while being pursued. Mitsuki tracked them to Hibiki where he learned the true nature of Hibiki, they were looking for a thief who killed their father and that thief had a scar from their father.

Sarada and her team arrived in time so that they could save Hibiki and her brother from the one who really kills. Since they aided in apprehending the murderer, they were given the chance to leave the Leaf Village but they cannot come back ever.
