Boruto: Naruto Next Generations: Is Kashin Koji and Jiraiya The Same?

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations continues the legacy of Naruto and Sasuke, as well as some of the original Naruto franchise characters, to this day. While some people want to Edo-Tensei a lot of the series' dead characters, Jiraiya was not reanimated. On that note, fans are eager to learn Kashin Koji's true identity, who, despite his mask, resembles Jiraiya. As a result, fans wonder: Are Kashin Koji and Jiraiya the same?

It's been a long time since we've seen Jiraiya alive and well in the series. That being said, it feels like an eternity has passed since the heartbreaking and soul-crushing scene of a wounded Jiraiya falling deep into the waters of Amegakure, also known as the Hidden Village of the Rain, in the hands of his former student, Nagato. On that note, fans are overwhelmed with emotion after seeing a glimmer of hope in the identity of Kashin Koji.

Fans can't get enough of Kashin Koji and his true relationship with Jiraiya, who has similar features to the beloved shinobi. While there are many wild theories about their connection, this article discloses the unmasked truth about Kashin Koji's upbringing.

If we go down this painful memory lane, Jiraiya died at the hands of Nagato after defeating three bodies of pain, forcing Nagato to bring forth the Six Paths of Pain. Jiraiya was mortally wounded by the Six Paths of Pain in the face of Nagato's overwhelming power, resulting in his death in the waters of Amegakure.

In terms of his remains, his body was never discovered after falling deep into the sea. In that regard, the shinobis of the Hidden Leaf were unable to recover the body. Even Kabuto was unable to locate his corpse and be reanimated by Edo-Tensei.

Naruto is only seen in the anime paying his respects to his deceased master through a memorial grave, implying that Jiraiya's body remained undiscovered until that very moment, even in the midst of the Fourth Great Shinobi War.

Kashin Koji is a former Kara inner member and one of the strongest in charge of the sector on the outskirts of the Land of Fire. He is a very capable man with a wide variety of techniques and jutsu that resemble the late Sannin.

Kashin Koji, like all members of the inner Kara, is a genetically modified shinobi, as revealed in Chapter 13 of Boruto.

Kashin Koji and Jiraiya are not the same people, as revealed in Chapter 47 of the Boruto manga when his mask crumbles. While I'm sorry to dash your sense of hope, Kashin Koji is simply a clone created by Amado, Kara's brilliant scientist. He was created with the sole intent of defeating Jigen, Isshiki Otsutsuki's vessel, and he ultimately failed to do so. After Jigen disables Amado's cyborg outers, he serves as a backup plan against Isshiki.

While Kashin Koji did not meet Jiraiya, owing to the latter's unfortunate death, they share many similarities, which explains the speculations surrounding both characters. Because of their shared genetic material and the way he fights, Naruto feels a kinship with Kashin. Fans can't help but draw parallels between the two characters, from their hair to their stature, not to mention Jiraiya's iconic jutsus, particularly the Rasengan.

Kashin Koji can also use the sage mode and spontaneous toad techniques, in case you missed it. He also observes and spies on his enemies, like Jiraiya, because both are always one step ahead of their enemies.

Moreover, Kashin Koji is a capable man whom Kakashi regards as a difficult opponent. In fact, he defeated Konohamaru after the latter engaged in a Rasengan battle with him. Furthermore, he has kept Jigen at bay even after recognizing that he could not defeat him.

It's understandable, but as a Naruto fan, I was curious about the truth behind Kashin Koji's appearance. His presence broke the internet, and fans can't help but keep their hopes up with the only thing that connects to Jiraiya.

Anyway, Jiraiya's death remains one of the most heartbreaking losses not only in Naruto's history but also in the anime community as a whole. He had played a significant role up until the Pain arc, and his legacy lives on in the hearts of Naruto, Boruto, and the others even after his untimely death.
