There may still be no word on Season 2, but Bocchi fans at least have upcoming projects to look forward to. Among these is the Bocchi the Rock! compilation film, which is now confirmed to be split into two.

The compilation movie being a two-parter was announced during a livestream that happened on October 14. There, details about the films, including their release windows were confirmed.

In case that’s not enough for fans, it was also revealed that the previous Bocchi the Rock! concert will get a theatrical release this November.

Bocchi the Rock! 2023 Concert Is Also Getting a Theatrical Release

Thanks to Bocchi the Rock!'s success in the Fall 22 season, the anime has continued to get new projects. These include a range of merch collabs, as well as live events such as the live concert at ZEPP Haneda in May 2023.

For those who missed the concert, it was announced recently that a recording of the event will get a theatrical run this November.

The planned theatrical screenings will take place in various cinemas in major Japanese cities, and they will happen from November 17 to 30, 2023.

As expected, there will also be a Blu-ray and DVD release of the live concert recording. This home video release will be available in Japan beginning November 22, 2023.

This cinema release of the concert is not too surprising. After all, theatrical screenings of concerts have seen a resurgence recently, likely thanks in part to the cinema release of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.

After the November concert theatrical run, fans will only need to wait a bit longer for another Bocchi cinema run. The next one to watch out for is Part 1 of the Bocchi the Rock! compilation film.

This first part is confirmed to be released in Japanese cinemas in Spring 2024. Meanwhile, Part 2 will be released sometime in Summer 2024.

Given that the films are split into two, the two films will likely be two hours long each, that is if they compile six episodes each without any cuts.

The compilation film release will likely not include new footage, though it’s still shaping up to be a must-watch for fans in Japan who still eagerly await Season 2 news.

For now, there’s no word yet on English release plans for the compilation film. Given that releases like these aren’t typically released internationally, fans in the US may want to keep their expectations in check.
