Blue Period Episode 6 will see Yatora studying with a better understanding of art college expectations, and art in general. Episode 5 was all about rumors and being influenced by one's peers, a fact that doesn't do wonders for our main character's art.
By the end of the episode, an honest discussion with his teacher, and a fight with a classmate, encourage Yatora to produce some of his best work so far. But will that be enough to get him into his academy of choice?

Blue Period Episode 5 Recap
The prep school lessons continue, and Yatora is struggling a bit. As classes are broken up, he finds himself in Oba-sensei's class along with Kuwana and Hashida. When Kuwana's piece is chosen as the first in the class, though, she's heartbroken; apparently, the students believe that those who score first in prep school will fail their exam.
This supposed curse isn't the only legend that needs to die. For the first time, Yatora comes across the idea of "Art exam" art. A lot of his fellow students seem to be under the impression that they cannot produce art that speaks to them if they're going to succeed. Rather, they believe that they must only do what the art school wants.
Yatora's perspective begins to shift when he visits the exhibition of TUA, his school of choice. Some of their art seems self-important indeed, but he enjoys seeing so many diverse pieces. An encounter with Yotasuke ends the day on a bitter note, however. From his classmate's comment's Yatora concludes that he's not good enough.
He later asks Oba-Sensei to teach him how to produce "art exam" art, only to find out that there's no such thing. As is the case with most things, getting into art school is all about trial and error. Apparently, Yatora spent too long listening to his classmates, and it's time for him to learn that there aren't any straightforward answers in art. And this is something all emerging artists need to know.
Blue Period Episode 5 Release Date
Blue Period Episode 5 has already aired on Netflix Japan. Outside of Japan, it will be available on Netflix from the 6th of November onwards. Before, Netflix used to host completed shows, which you could binge at once. Therefore, this is an interesting allowance, as we can still catch up with this beautiful, heartwarming anime.
