Thousand-Year Blood War is easily one of the top anime of the season, which isn’t surprising since Bleach fans have been excited about this show for years now. And to mark the finale of its first cour, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War revealed that Episodes 12 and 13 will be a 1-hour special.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Fan Reception, Episode Count
While the Bleach anime ended a couple of years ago, it didn’t cover the manga’s last arc.
It may have taken years, but the Thousand-Year Blood War arc was finally adapted into a TV anime by studio Pierrot.
While there was a lot of hype behind Bleach’s return, the show not only met the hype, but it even exceeded it based on fans’ reactions to the first episodes.
Since then, the show continued to trend on Twitter and other platforms whenever a new episode is released.
The excitement for Bleach: TYBW is still high even as the first cour is about to end, and it likely won’t stop anytime soon.
After all, the anime is confirmed to run for four cours. While there’s no final episode count for the series, the first cour is confirmed to run for 13 episodes.
If all cours get 13 episodes, the new Bleach anime should have 52 episodes at most.
This is fitting given that Thousand-Year Blood War is one of the series’ longest arcs.

Bleach TYBW Episodes 12 and 13 Special Finale
It’s going to be a while before the proper TYBW ending, though the anime’s first cour is getting a special finale broadcast that combines Episodes 12 and 13 into a 1-hour special.
Specifically, the first cour finale will be broadcast on TV Tokyo on December 26 at 24:30 JST (technically December 27 at 12:30 AM JST).
The Episode 11 release won’t be affected as it will still be broadcast next week at its usual time.
A 1-hour special is not new for anime as many shows have extended finales that combine the last two episodes.
For instance, the Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Season 3 finale also got a special hour-long broadcast.
Meanwhile, the upcoming anime Oshi no Ko is also getting an extra-long broadcast, but instead of the finale, the show will open with a 90-minute first episode.
Currently, there’s no word yet on a premiere date for cour two of Bleach: TYBW.
