After reports of a release date, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has finally confirmed its October 10 release date, as well as its 4-cours length. These details were shared alongside a new trailer which revealed new members of the voice cast.

All these announcements were made following the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War advance screening which took place in Japan and was attended only by a limited number of people. This screening featured the first two episodes of the anime.

Here is the new trailer which was uploaded on the Aniplex YouTube channel:

At over two minutes long, this new trailer shows off lots of new footage featuring Ichigo and company in action.

Bleach is an anime series by studio Pierrot that’s based on the manga written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from August 2001 to August 2016.

Thousand-Year Blood War is a TV anime adaptation of the Bleach manga’s final arc. This arc serves as the series’ conclusion and covers Volumes 55 to 74 of the manga.

While the original anime had a conclusion of its own, it did not adapt the final arc, so this upcoming series can be seen as the true ending. This is why fans are highly anticipating the show’s return.

Studio Pierrot returns to animate the series, with direction by Tomohisa Taguchi. The original voice cast of the Bleach TV anime is also returning, and they are joined by members of the Bleach: Brave Souls game cast.

Aside from the new trailer, the premiere was also followed by an announcement of the voice actors that have joined the series’ cast.

These new cast members include Wataru Hatano as Hidetomo Kajomaru, KENN as Berenice Gabrielli, Takahiro Fujiwara as Jerome Guizbatt, Wataru Komada as Asguiaro Ebern, and Daiki Hamano as Luders Friegen.

Also announced following the premiere was the show’s length. Specifically, the upcoming Bleach TV anime will be 4-cours in length, with some breaks in between.

The opening and ending themes for the anime were also confirmed, with Tatsuya Kitani performing the opening theme “Scar” and SennaRin performing the ending theme “Saihate”. This confirms the previous reports of the opening and ending performers.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will premiere in Japan on October 10, 2022, at 24:00 JST (which is effectively October 11 at midnight JST).

Right now, there’s no word yet on where the show will simulcast outside Japan.
