The delay of the reboot of Blade has caused the whole calendar of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to push back their dates further and one of the reasons for this, according to new reports, is that the lead star allegedly demanded changes to the script of the upcoming movie.
Still in its pre-production stage, the reboot of Blade under the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been delayed to September 6, 2024, taking up the original schedule of Deadpool 3 and the rest of the movies in the line-up moved back as well.
In a report from industry insider Jeff Sneider in The Hot Mic podcast, it has been revealed that one of the reasons why there is a delay in the upcoming Blade reboot is that the lead actor of the movie, Oscar Award-winning actor Mahershala Ali had some frustrations on the script.
Because of this, the actor reportedly demanded that the script be changed from time to time for a number of months to bring his realization of his vision of the character to life as per what he wants it to be like when the movie comes into fruition.

This is not the first instance of the delay of Blade as when it was first pushed back, it is because of the director of the movie departing early on, Bassam Tariq, due to the production schedule of the upcoming reboot.
Since 2019, when the movie has been announced, Mahershala Ali has been attached to the film and even had a voice cameo in Eternals' post-credits scene. Now, the movie has a new director with Yann Demange, known for his work with Lovecraft Country.
The writer of the upcoming Blade reboot is based on the first draft of Stacy Osei-Kuffour, and the screenplay of it is currently under the pen of Michael Starrbury.
Blade reboot is currently slated for a September 6, 2024 release in theaters.
