Marvel Studios' Blade reboot has been plagued with several production dilemmas but it looks like the Mahershala Ali project is finally getting the ball rolling one year before Eric Brooks' return to cinema. Key details about the project remain under wraps but according to a new rumor, one character we're all expecting to show up in the film isn't going to be part of the anticipated reboot.

According to a new scoop from Twitter insider @CanWeGetToast, Eternals star Kit Harrington, who played Dane Whitman aka Black Knight in the Phase Four film won't be part of Blade despite the obvious connection between the two characters.

The tipster claims that the only way for Black Knight to become involved in the project is if he'd be given a small cameo but as it stands, that doesn't seem to be the case. If you may recall, the famed daywalker made his official MCU debut in Eternals' post-credits scene in a voice role, saying "Sure you're ready for that Mr. Whitman?" when Whitman was about to get his hands on the mythical Ebony Blade.

It's worth mentioning that Blade is said to be a period film that takes place in the 1920s so Black Knight's exclusion from the film is pretty understandable unless Brooks and Whitman have already met during that period which is highly unlikely given how the MCU version of Black Knight was born in the late 20th century.

That's not to say though that they won't pick up where they left off at some point in the MCU.

Marvel Studios' Blade reboot is expected to hit cinemas on September 6, 2024.
