Ray Winstone gets blunt about his experience working on the MCU film Black Widow.

The English actor played the main villain General Dreykov, the main figure responsible for the Red Room and Taskmaster's father. It was also his only appearance in the MCU as the character died at the end of the film.

However, being involved in the superhero movie wasn't necessarily a fun experience for the veteran.

As reported by Deadline, Winstone recently opened up about his experience working on Black Widow and shared what he felt when he learned that he had to do reshoots.

"It was fine until you have to do the reshoots. Then you find out that a few producers have come down, and your performance is too much, it’s too strong," he told Radio Times.

"That’s the way Marvel works. It can be soul-destroying, because you feel like you’re doing great work.

Winstone also revealed that he almost quit the project because of the reshoots but he ended up doing it anyway due to contractual obligation.

He added, "I actually said, ‘You ought to recast it because that was it for me.’ And you end up doing it again because you’re contracted to do it. Otherwise you end up in court. It’s like being kicked in the balls."

It's not an open secret that Marvel Studios is known to do reshoots in their film and TV projects during post-production and it occasionally even happens closer to the release date.

Winstone's sentiments are very understandable since Marvel has an unusual filming process that might not work for some actors who come on board or are used to a certain way that they're accustomed to.

In the end, he did a good job enough to have a convincing villainous presence on the screen and showed how threatening Dreykov is to the main heroes of the film.
